Directions

The Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Molecular Genetics is part of the Institute for Biology 3 at the University of Freiburg/Breisgau. It is located in northern Freiburg near the Botanical Garden.

•  Airport: Frankfurt, Basel and Zurich (Switzerland), via train ICE to Freiburg Central Station.

•  Railways: Freiburg Central Station. Exit the train and get a tram. The tram stops on the bridge above the gateways in the central station. The stairs lead up from each gate. Take Line 6 in direction “Zaehringen”. Exit at “Okenstrasse” (15 min drive). Cross the street and turn to the right into “Okenstrasse”. Follow the street, then turn to the right into “Schaenzlestrasse”. ( 3 min walk) On the left across the street you see our cross-shaped building. We work on the 5th floor.

•  Car: highway A5 Karlsruhe/Basel. Take exit “Freiburg Nord” and follow B 294 and B 3 to “Freiburg Stadtmitte” (= center). When you have reached the Freiburg city limit (yellow sign “Freiburg”) you have to pass two traffic-lights. After the second light follow the street underpassing the railway line. You are now on the “Habsburger Strasse”. To your left you will see a Shell gas station. Pass the gas station and turn left into “Schaenzlestrasse”. We are located on the 5th floor of the large cross-shaped building on the right side of the street.
